Hello Singapore Gooners,
I’m writing to you earlier this week as this is going to be a long weekend for all Singaporeans and residents so plan your time well. You can do all you wish to do with your family and friends on Friday (Vote early and wisely in the GE!) and reserve the rest of your energy for Saturday’s match.
The international break is over, just like that. I don’t know about you but I am itching for The Arsenal to get back into action. The good news is that Ramsey, Ox, Walcott, Bosscielny, Debuchy, Cech, Ozil, Cazorla and Alexis performed well for their countries. Let’s hope with a spring in their step, they can channel all that positive energy on our home ground. 2 clean sheets in the past 2 games, 6th in the table and slowly climbing our way to the top. We need a Win on our home ground!
Francis Coquelin was voted our Player of the Month in August and deservedly so! What a transformation this guy has been for us and I dare say one of the first names on the team sheet now. Invariably, comparison with Vieira always comes to mind but Le Coq is a man in his own right. Let’s hope his positivity, passion and never-say-die attitude rubs off on the team. Have you seen how fired up this guy gets in every game? I love his attitude! Go see his videos on YouTube.
How many of you are keen to catch some Champions League action this Oct and Nov at Emirates Stadium? Ticket application for Bayern Munich and Dinamo Zagreb will close on 14th Sep and 20th Sep respectively. Apply by sending your email to tickets@arsenalsingapore.com
Last week I mentioned our on-going commitment with Children’s Aid Home. For those members who are able to volunteer once a month on Sundays, there are some kids who would treasure your time spent with them. Please drop a note to Shai at shai@arsenalsingapore.com and he will fill you in with more details. The next session is on Sun 20 Sep, 3pm.
7 matches in 21 days. That’s right, folks! Matches are coming in thick and fast. EPL, Champions League and Carling Cup. I can’t get enough of it, I tell you! Stoke is up next to visit Emirates Stadium. They are winless this season and I’m confident our team will ensure that Mark Hughes’ team leaves north London the same way. This match is on Sat 12 Sep, 10pm kick-off and will be shown at both Molly Roffey’s Bras Basah and Dorsett outlets.
Look out for our Exco team at Molly Roffey’s Bras Basah outlet only for membership renewals and new sign-ups strictly from 8.30-9.30pm this Sat. A reminder for those renewing that we still stop renewals on 26th Sep so you have 2 more weeks to do so.
I’ll see you at Molly Bras Basah. Sing loud and proud.
Come on You Gunners!
Victory Through Harmony,
Dhanesh
