Arsenal Singapore Newsletter 28th October 2015

extraHello Singapore Gooners,

Week In Review
It was a perfect week for the Gunners! Victory over Everton allowed us to go Top of the Table! And we’re still (joint) top! So despite losing our first league match back in August, we are doing well  10 games into the season. The team spirit is strong and the players are gelling well to grind out the results needed. Next two months will be a good gauge for The Arsenal with non-stop Champions League and BPL matches lined up.

This Wednesday’s morning “friendly” kickabout with the Owls of Sheffield obviously didn’t go down the way we would have liked to. Naturally everyone’s concerned with the injuries to Ox and Theo. Let’s hope they don’t have to stay on the medic’s table for too long.

Arsenal Singapore Futsal Tournament

For those members who have not submitted the Player Registration form to participate, please remember to do before 31st Oct (this Saturday!). This is also our deadline to book the venue. Currently only 3 teams have submitted forms. If we do not have enough teams by 31st Oct, we may not be able to proceed with this event. So round up all your footy kakis and submit da thing. Next Thursday 5th Nov at 3.45am, it’s Champions League action when the Gunners head to Germany for Oktoberfest! And while at it, finish off Bayern Munich to keep our dreams alive. We have done the job there in the past so it’s certainly not mission impossible. This match will not be shown at Molly Roffey’s.

Arsenal Singapore Newsletter 21st October 2015

extraHello Singapore Gooners,

Guten Abend. Wunderbar Wednesday isn’t it? Another scalp for Arsene Wenger’s Red White Army! Bayern gunned down by the mighty Arsenal this morning. Perhaps, just perhaps the fat lady hasn’t sung yet. In the words of Arsenal Legend David Seaman after full-time, “Who says we’ve only got one way of playing? #greatteamspirit”

Yes we have a Plan B! Bellerin!! His new nick, Hector “Usain Bolt” Bellerin!

Simply enjoy it Gooners! Enjoy this feeling. That feeling that makes you wanna dance on the ceiling!! We’ve beaten probably the best club team currently in the world now. #Cechmate

Another Good News for you! Our Arsenal SG Year End Party is set for Sunday 13th Dec at 6pm. We will be playing Aston Villa at 9,30pm that night. This is for current members only (2015-16 members) and it’s absolutely Free for you to attend. It’s gonna be a rockin’ early Christmas celebration with lots to win, lots to play, lots to drink (you get the drift). Only for the first 100 members who RSVP to Alvin at alvin@arsenalsingapore.com before 30th November.

The annual Arsenal Singapore Futsal Tournament will be held on Sat 21 Nov at Kovan Sports Centre. Each team can register max 7 players per team.  Max 14 teams only are allowed to participate in the tournament. Deadline to register is 7 Nov 2015. Here is the link for the Player registration form and futsal rules and regulations: http://tinyurl.com/sgfutsal

For a sweet Saturday coming up, the Toffees are coming over to London. Will Arteta play and haunt his former club? Le Boss might shuffle the pack a little bit since and play Chambo (Ox) for Rambo who may be out with some tightness (hamstring!). We have the meanest defence in the League after 9 games (I don’t care much about the other team down the Lane) so let’s keep it that way. Match kicks off on Saturday 24 Oct, 12.30am (Sunday morning) at Molly’s Bras Basah outlet only. Dorsett outlet will not telecast this match.

For members who missed renewals, you can only sign up as a new member now and why not invite your Arsenal friends to join us. If you haven’t already realised, membership has its privileges! You have 5 more matches to do so before we close shop on 29th Nov (Norwich game) for this season. Look for our Exco team on Saturday outside Molly Bras Basah from 11pm to 12 midnight strictly.

And it’s ARSENAL… ARSENAL FC! We Are By Far The Greatest Team, The World Has Ever Seen!

Arsenal Singapore Newsletter 15th October 2015

extra

Dear Singapore Gooners,

Good Thursday morning to all. It’s been a goal fiesta for our Arsenal players on international duty. In fact, no club team had a better international break than The Arsenal!

Alexis. Cazorla. Giroud. Walcott. Ox. Ramsey. Akpom. Gnabry. Goals, goals, goals. Even Joel Campbell didn’t want to be left out so he decided to score too! Ozil assisted as he normally does. And Ospina kept a clean sheet. Gunners on fire!

12th October marked Arsene Wenger’s 19th Anniversary of his first match in-charge as Le Boss. 15 trophies in 19 years, 1 spanking new stadium, 1 state-of-the-art training centre and oh yes, 1 GOLDEN EPL TROPHY! Not too shabby eh?

Just pause a moment to reflect on that. Now channel all your positive energy and get behind the team to lead us for a title challenge this season.

The annual Arsenal Singapore Futsal Tournament will be held on Sat 21 Nov at Kovan Sports Centre. Each team can register max 7 players per team.  Max 14 teams only are allowed to participate in the tournament. Dateline to register is 7 Nov 2015. Here is the link for the Player registration form and futsal rules and regulations: http://tinyurl.com/sgfutsal

Ticket application for upcoming Bournemouth and Newcastle matches will be closing soon! Refer to the deadlines on our website. Send your applications to Umarani at tickets@arsenalsingapore.com

The Arsenal is back in action and we have 7 matches in 3 weeks coming thick and fast. Starting with Watford this weekend, it’s 2nd vs 12th in the EPL table. They seem to be a draw specialist, conceding same number of goals as us but they don’t have their scoring boots on. So I hope to see a clean sheet at the very least and hopefully some goals flowing for us. Match kicks off on Sat 18th Oct, 12.30am (Sunday) at Molly Roffey’s Bras Basah outlet only. Dorsett outlet will not telecast this match.

We will also continue our membership sign-ups so if your friends and family are keen to be part of our Goonerific club, look for our Exco team on Saturday outside Molly Bras Basah from 11pm to 12 midnight strictly. We will cease new sign-ups by end November.

The Arsenal host that team from Germany in Champions League action next Wednesday, 2.45am. It really is do-or-die crunch time against Bayern Munich. Will the real Arsenal turn up for that match? Will it be a magical European night for us? Take note this match will NOT be shown at any Molly Roffey’s outlets.

Finally, Molly Roffey’s Bras Basah outlet is sporting a brand new look and layout which was unveiled yesterday. New chairs, new tables, new stools and a refreshing layout change. Total capacity has increased by 25% so more members can sit down and enjoy their meals there. Come down and check it out for yourself! As earlier promised, we will complete the Arsenalization with more memorabilia on the walls by end October.

Arsene Wenger’s Red White Army!

Arsenal Singapore Newsletter 30th September 2015

extraDear Singapore Gooners,

I have a confession to make. I didn’t stay up to catch our Greek tragedy that unfolded upon us early this morning. I had an early morning flight to catch and upon learning the results before take-off, I decided to start writing my thoughts at 36,000 feet in the air. Turbulence ahead.

We started September with a bang and ended with a whimper.
Played 6, Won 3, Lost 3. Wake me up when September ends!

At least we ended Leicester’s unbeaten run. There can only be One Invincibles, The Arsenal! Good news is that Alexis-Walcott strikeforce is really kicking in now and goals are flowing. Defence needs some more bite eh? Happy (belated) Birthday Per. BFG turned 31 two days ago. Theo was just announced as our Player of the Month for September. Is he our new Anelka? He sulks less, thankfully.

As I announced last week, the annual Arsenal Singapore Futsal Tournament will take place on Sat 21 Nov at Kovan Sports Centre. Each team will register max 7 players with a Manager in-charge of the team. Registration fee for each team is only $40. Max 14 teams only are allowed to participate in the tournament.

Dateline to register is 7 Nov 2015. You can email Shai at shai@arsenalsingapore.com if you need further clarifications.

Ticket application for Man City and Bournematch matches in December will close on 12  and 19 Oct respectively. Head to London during the school holidays for a festive visit to The Arsenal at Emirates Stadium. Email Umarani at tickets@arsenalsingapore.com

On this Super Sunday, Manure visits London. We are only 3 points away from the top.  Simple as that. Is there a bigger motivation needed?  How did they get to be top? I have no idea. They have a mean defence but our strikers will be pushing them all the way. Kick-off is on Sunday 4th Oct, 11pm at Molly Roffey’s Bras Basah and Dorsett outlets.

Renewal season ended last week but new sign-ups for Arsenal SG membership will continue till end Nov. You can do so from 9.30pm to 10.30pm this Sunday at Bras Basah outlet only. Then we will take a 2-week international break and resume on 18th Oct (Watford game).

I know the lads will be up for it this Sunday. Will you be there? COYG!!!

Victory Through Harmony,

Dhanesh
