Arsenal Singapore Newsletter 25th November 2015

Dear Singapore Gooners,

Lunchtime News Edition!

For those receiving this newsletter for the first time, Welcome to Arsenal Singapore! This is your weekly update on all things associated with Arsenal and Singapore Gooners.

Now if you’re familiar with the song “Keeping the Dream Alive” by German pop/rock band Freiheit, perhaps these words will ring true after The Arsenal’s Dino-mite win this morning.

“The hopes we had were much too high
Way out of reach but we have to try
The game will never be over
Because we’re keeping the dream alive”

The Gunners are back in business! 5-star fabulous team performance, 3 goals scored and in 2 weeks time, it’s all to play for in Athens with 1 mission in mind. Just beat them Greeks!

Our EPL title track was abruptly halted last Saturday. Frustrating to say the least. And now Le Coq is out for 12 weeks and I know what you’re thinking… But we only have 1 Coq! It’s time for the other players to step up and fill that gap.

With a third of the season gone, Leicester is top of the League after 13 games! The wily foxes are enjoying a good run (for now) and I’d rather see them top than the other pretenders. Hey, they’ve scored the most goals so far too! Let’s see what happens after Christmas/January.

Dear Singapore Gooners,

The World Is Not Enough. No, I’m not talking about that 1999 James Bond flick. It’s been a week of turmoil in the world this past week. Too many scares in football and politics. Let’s set the record straight. Sports and politics simply do not mix! We all love a game of football and whether you watch it at a pub, cafe or catch a live game at the football stadium, we should be able to get home safe and sound. What is the world simply coming to?

Dear Singapore Gooners,

So the North London Derby came and went. Plenty of interesting observations from that game. We missed Bellerin and Santi. Alexis was tired. Oli G’s beard is slowing him down and made him miss those glorious chances. Harry Kane can’t keep his mouth closed at all times! hehe… You had to be at Molly last Sunday to get this joke. How could you NOT be there? And one last thing, Sp*rs supporters don’t like to wash their hands after using the loo at Emirates. Filthy Sc*ms!

Oh we’re still Joint-Top of the League! Yes, you can still sing that song… You know you want to… LOL

Another month of awards for The Arsenal. Our new international model Le Boss won October’s Manager of the Month Award (Have you seen the pictures yet?). Ozil is officially “King of Assists” in the EPL and it’s only November. Bellerin just won the Catalan Young Player of the Year award. Now fingers crossed, let’s win the BIGGEST award come May!

Singapore takes on Japan on 12th Nov and Syria on 17th Nov. The Lions need your support! It’s still mission possible for Road to Russia World Cup 2018.

Arsenal Singapore Newsletter 6th November 2015

extraHello Singapore Gooners,

TGIF! Oktoberfest is well and truly over after the Bayern battering (Yes, I’m aware it’s already November). Let’s stay away from those pork knuckles, frankfurters, etc. You get the drill. We need a detox. Danke!

Otherwise, our October results were pretty good, no? Played 6, Won 5. Still Joint-Top in the EPL. What more can you ask for? Sure, perhaps more goals so we can overtake the Citeh Sheiks. I believe we can do it and Citeh will falter in matches to come. They’ve been known to leak in some goals unexpectedly too.

So Oli G-2000 scored that momentous goal for Arsene Wenger’s red white army. Mesut Ozil was named Arsenal’s Player of the Month in October. Alexis was named PFA Fans’ Player of the Month in October as well. And we still have TEN players out with injuries. Looks like Diaby’s voodoo is still lingering…. Sigh. How many virgin sacrifices do we have to make to stay injury-free? LOL.

And so it’s only a small matter of a North London derby this Sunday you say? Form goes out of the window and only one thing matters… THREE POINTS! It is never a dull game between ye olde “Have you ever seen Tottenham win the League” and the Gunners. Calm heads must prevail and our team needs to be in the right frame of mind after flying home from Germany. Let’s Get Loud!
Head on down to Molly Roffey’s Bras Basah outlet this Sunday 8th Nov, 12 midnight (Monday morning). Molly Dorsett will not telecast this match.
