Arsenal Singapore Newsletter 3rd May 2016

Hello Singapore Gooners,

Dilly-ding, dilly-dong! The fairytale is over… Congrats to the new EPL champions, the Foxes. Ranieri and his band of merry men outfought, outplayed and outlasted every other team this season and are truly the most consistent team.

Now take a moment and laugh at Sp*ds. They actually assumed that they could knick it but obviously they were living in their own fairytale? (Can you make a guess which one is that?) This morning, Chelski v Sp*ds was all the chaos and mayhem you’ve been expecting all season. Having watched the highlights of that match I can assure you one thing… That was NO footy match! History was created as Sp*ds are the first team in EPL history to earn 9 yellow cards in 1 match! What a bunch of Muppets!!

Sp*ds players behaving like thugs and spoilt brats and were just hell bent on kicking and shoving everyone on the field. The ref sure had his hands full and that may not be the end of it. The FA may take retrospective action against them. Can we pray for some points deduction for the mass brawl too? Bad example to millions of kids worldwide who were watching the game. Let’s say a silent prayer now 🙂

The Gunners, having won 1-0 over Norwich last Sunday, now actually have a small chance to clinch 2nd place. It’s gonna be tough but hey, it’s already a strange season so anything may happen. Obviously we are lacking the firepower up front and the sooner the season ends, the better. I hope you are feeling excited for the final 2 games.

Arsenal Tour – Sydney 2017

Folks, you must have read the news from AFC by now about Arsenal’s tour in Sydney next year – 13th & 15th July 2017 are the match dates. Tickets will only go on sale in July this year. Right now, we have no further info but the Exco team is planning to secure group bookings for match tickets and hotel accom in Sydney (early stages only, so relax!).

If we can do a block booking of seats, then we can sit near other overseas Arsenal supporters’ clubs (similar to BAT 2015 in Singapore). We’re taking a quick poll to see how many members are keen for match tickets and hotel rooms. Email your choice to Umarani at by 31st May 2016.

Indicate the following:
1. Your name and membership number
2. No. of match tickets needed
3. No. of rooms needed (For now, we are in talks with a 4-star hotel in Downtown Sydney, AUD $125 NETT per night, twin sharing, standard room, inclusive of breakfast for 2 pax).

If you just want match tickets from Arsenal Singapore, that is fine with us. Hotel accomodation is really optional and you can choose to stay elsewhere if you like. Also for now, we will also leave flight tickets open for members to book on their own. There are plenty of budget airline options for you to choose from.

Membership Renewal & New Sign-ups

Two more weeks to go for renewals. Get your hands on the All-new Arsenal Singapore polo t-shirt. Look out for the Exco team outside Molly’s only from 9.30pm to 10.30pm on Sun 8th May.

Next season, Arsenal Singapore will be celebrating our 10th Anniversary of being an Official Arsenal Supporters’ Club (since 2007). So it will be an awesome season coming up. There will be events lined up exclusively for current members only. So what’s your excuse for not renewing your membership? 🙂

For our final away game this season, the Gunners travel to Citeh for a MASSIVE 3-points decider. If we win, we (can almost) secure 3rd place and perhaps, just perhaps someway, somehow have an outside chance to even finish 2nd. Yes, another divine intervention needed! *Buddhist monks, you say?* This will be Pellegrini’s last home match in charge so you know it’s gonna be a cracker! I know you are excited about this so come down and support your team in red.

Man City v The Arsenal, Sunday 8th May, 11pm kick-off!

North London is Red! London is Red!! Come On, Arsenal!!!
