Happy Belated National Day to Everyone! RED AND WHITE fever has truly kicked in.
Here we go again! The Arsenal kicks off the EPL 2016/17 season campaign this Sunday with Arsene Wenger’s 20th year in-charge of the Kings of London.
And i’m optimistic as ever that we will do well. Here’s where we finished in recent seasons:
2014 – 4th
2015 – 3rd
2016 – 2nd
2017 – ???
You know what I mean, right? Or am I just the King of Wishful Thinking?
Another reason to do well is because Arsenal Singapore will be celebrating our 10th Anniversary in 2017. Time flies when we’re all having fun, from 2007 to 2017. The Exco team has put our heads together and came up with a fun-filled, exciting and rewarding year of activities especially for YOU, Singapore Gooners! We will reveal them slowly over the next few months. These exclusive privileges and benefits are for MEMBERS ONLY! You Simply Do Not Want To Miss Out!
For now, here we go.
1. Lucky Draw Contest
To reward our members for your loyalty and passion for our club, we will start a lucky draw contest in August 2016. 2 winners will be picked and they stand to win Molly Roffey’s dining vouchers. 1st winner will win $100 and the 2nd winner will win $50 in vouchers. So how do you win? Read on.
– This contest is open to all active Arsenal Singapore members of the current 2016/17 season only so just make sure you have already renewed your membership. Exco team is not eligible for this contest.
– Members will need to submit their Molly dining receipts from Arsenal match nights to participate. Each receipt allows you 1 chance in the lucky draw. (For example, there are 3 Arsenal matches in August so you can submit 3 receipts and have 3 chances in the lucky draw).
– There is no minimum spending needed but receipts can only be from Arsenal match nights.
– On the back of each receipt, write down your personal details in this format: Name, Membership number, Mobile number, Arsenal’s opponent.
(For example: John Tan, 702-07-xxx-x, 91234567, Arsenal v Liverpool).
– All August dining receipts must be personally submitted to any Exco member on any Arsenal match night in August. Last date for submission is 10th Sep 2016 (Southampton game). The draw will take place at half time during the Southampton game on 10th Sep.
– All winners will be notified by us to collect your prize.
– All decisions made by the Exco team is final.

2. Arsenal Singapore Football Team
Arsenal SG will be taking part in the local BPL competition for season 2016/2017. We will be conducting a trial session on 20 August 2016 from 3-7 pm at Bishan Park Secondary School. All Arsenal fans, aged 17 and above, are welcome for the trial. Players selected will have to sign up as Arsenal SG members of the club subsequently. So you can ask all your football kakis, who secretly love the Gunners, to sign up for the trials too.
Please wear proper football gears and bring any red top and any blue top (neutral kit and not representing any team) during the trial.

3. Annual General Meeting (AGM) 2016
This will be held on Saturday 27th August, 6.30pm at Molly. It will be on the night of Watford game at 10pm so stick around to catch the game after the AGM. If you have any questions/feedback to raise to the Exco, please email Alvin, our Club Secretary, at Alvin@arsenalsingapore.com by 17th August 2016.
4. Arsenal Match Tickets
We love seeing our members travel to London to experience the magic of catching the best team the world has ever seen LIVE at The Emirates Stadium. Ticket applications for these matches are still open so send your applications to Umarani at tickets@arsenalsingapore.com

And so we kick off our season with Klopp’s fools, I mean Liverpool. Back in 1989, we won the league by beating them 2-0 on the final day. I’ll reckon we’ll begin this season on a positive note. We’ve got Xhaka, Ox, Alexis, Rambo, Elneny, Campbell, Iwobi, Akpom and Walcott to destroy them. There’s still room for 2 more signings now that Gab and Per are out so I reckon we’ll get the job done before 31st August.
Come down early to renew/sign-up your membership. You get the ALL-NEW Arsenal SG red & white polo t-shirt. For those who have yet to collect your 2015 membership cards (where have you been Gooners?), come down to collect it and your Arsenal SG yellow scarf. We are running out of storage space to hold them for you. Your last chance to collect your card & scarf is 27th Aug 2016 (Watford game).
The Arsenal v Liverpool, 11pm kick-off, Sunday 14th Aug. Look out for Exco team from 9pm to 10.30pm outside Molly.
