From Wilman & Lyndell:
It has always been my wish to experience an Arsenal game with my wife at the Emirates Stadium so, you can imagine my joy when our match tickets were confirmed!
Our Arsenal experience began on the eve of game day with the Arsenal Stadium Tour and a visit to the museum. These provided my wife (a new Gooner) a good idea of Arsenal’s history and achievements. One highlight of the tour was all the 12 FA Cups on display!
You can even take a photo with the 2015 FA Cup up close! I must say the Arsenal staff were very warm and welcoming. I even received a pat on my back when I told one of the staff that we are Singapore Gooners attending the Arsenal-Palace game!
We also took a walk around the stadium to admire the Emirates Stadium Arsenalisation efforts. The chilly winds did not deter us one bit as we took our time to read about the players featured on the wall murals, admired the statues and took plenty of photos.
Game day was a beautiful sunny afternoon with clear skies. We collected our tickets promptly without any issues and made our way to our seats at the Clock End with great excitement!
There, we met fellow Singapore Gooners Wei Ming and Committee VP Mr Tiong Jin Yan. Much had already been said and discussed about the game so I shan’t go into how the game went. Though the result was very disappointing, our overall Arsenal experience had been awesome!
No Arsenal experience can be complete without visiting Highbury (now a residential development known as Highbury Square) so, Wei Ming and us took a short walk there after the game. Seeing the preserved East Stand facade in person and a few pictures with it, was well worth the effort!
We would like to thank Arsenal Singapore for the opportunity to fulfill our dreams and in particular, to Connie and Umarani whom we corresponded with, for our membership and ticket application. Thanks so much!
COYG!
With warmest regards,
Singapore Gooners Wilman & Lyndell
