From Heinrich:
Dream Come True Against Watford
Thanks to the wonderful assistance from Singapore’s Arsenal Supporters Club (Umarani and Connie were particularly helpful), my two sons (Benedict 11, Joachim 8) and I had the experience of a lifetime at the Emirates Stadium this weekend! Their father having been an Arsenal fan since the famous FA Cup Final against Manchester United in 1979, it was natural for my boys to be Gooners born and bred. But none of us had ever visited the Emirates Stadium, let alone watched a match there. The dream came true during this Easter break when the family visited London.
On March 31st we did the self-guided stadium tour and got to see the FA Cup trophy, wander through the changing rooms and press centre, walk through the tunnel and sit in Arsene Wenger’s pitch-side seat. It was a magical warm-up! Then on matchday, April 2nd, we came early to pick up our tickets and went to the museum to remind ourselves of the many wonderful historical milestones the Club has achieved over the years and see first hand some of the great items of past glory on display.
The highlight was of course watching the match itself! We could not have picked a better day to see a game at the Emirates Stadium – the sun was shining, the stadium was full and the atmosphere ecstatic as Arsenal systematically decommissioned Watford with a beautiful display of skill, confidence, teamwork and class, winning by a thoroughly well-deserved 4-0 margin.
Thank you so much to the Supporters Club for making this possible!
