The man who’s Mr Arsenal through-and-through for decades, won almost every trophy available, who knows every player that has come through the ranks and who has a favourite place in the hearts of all players bade an emotional goodbye to the Arsenal faithful at the Emirates. Yes, Mr Vic Akers, has spent over 30 years dedicated to The Arsenal! Who doesn’t recognize Mr Shorts, especially in the fiercely cold climates in Milan and Ludogrets away games? He will sorely be missed by Gooners worldwide. #AkersOut
Our friendly BFG will also retire end of this season and the applause he received coming in during the last 15 mins on Sunday was a heartfelt thanks to him. Who can forget Per Mertersacker’s colossal performance in the 2017 FA Cup Final when Martin Keown labelled it the “Per Mertersacker Final”? #DankeKapitan #DankePer #PerOut
I’m sure all of you witnessed the grand send-off for Monsieur Arsene Wenger. Trust me folks, there may never be another manager like Wenger ever again. His intelligence, wit, charm and humility has impressed players, manager, fans and even journalists! For those of you who are yet to be convinced, you may only realise what he has done for Arsenal FC in years to come. Merci Wenger! #FatherFigure
On to this weekend, this is the final EPL match this season. It’s time the fat lady has sung (apologies to all fat ladies, truly) and I can’t wait to press CTRL+ALT+DEL and start all over again in August 2018 with our brand new manager. Who will take over the coveted hot seat: Ancelotti, Allegri, Allardyce, Arteta, Sundram? The board should decide before the start of the World Cup, 14th June.
Five Square will open at 8pm this Sunday. Tapas stall and bar bites available so come on down. Probably your last opportunity to renew your memberships and sign-ups before ICC event in July.
