Hello Fellow Singapore Gooners,

All good things come to an end…and unfortunately, that happened to our unbeaten run on Sunday night as a trio of headed goals handed Unai’s Red Army their first defeat in all competitions since August. It was an incredibly frustrating night for all Gooners as a patched up defense led by a clearly rusty Koscielny failed to deal with Southampton’s direct approach. To make matters worse, both Bellerin and Lichsteiner went off injured as well. Expect to see Bould named as a substitute for the next match.

If the boys are looking to pick themselves up after that loss, then there is no better way to do it than beating that homeless bunch of divers in the Carabao Cup on Thursday morning. Five Square will not be open for the match, so you will have to cheer on our boys in front of the TV / laptop / mobile phone. With matches coming thick and fast in the next couple of weeks, it will be interesting to see how Unai rotates his injury ravaged squad for this match.

Five Square will be open for this Saturday’s home match against Burnley, which kicks off at a relatively early time of 8:30pm. Do come down early with your friends / family to have pre-match dinner and drinks, and make merry as we prepare to celebrate Christmas very soon!

On behalf of the exco, we would like to wish all Gooners a very Merry Christmas! (hopefully Santa Claus brings a couple of new players for Unai as Christmas gifts!)

Best wishes,
Alvin
