Greetings Gooners!

Woot! Woot! We are through to the fourth round of the Carabao Cup. It was not an easy feat I must say, playing against another EPL team, while the other teams effortlessly moved on to the next round by beating the minnows. And ridiculously, our London rival went through with zero effort via a walk-over. Despite the challenge, Arteta made 7 changes to the team that beat the Hammers and the players worked really, really hard against a resilient opponent. In the end, Leicester were Fuchs with an own goal and Nketiah poked one in, late in the game. That is 2 goals in 3 games for our number 30.

And a bigger surprise, Arsenal got lucky to play Liverpool in the next tie #whatthehell. It is like playing a game of Blackjack, getting 2 cards of Ace. Arsenal now plays Liverpool back to back, on Monday and Thursday, in Anfield, and thereafter hosts Sheffield United on Sunday. It is going to be a massive week for Arsenal and a good test of the squad’s mettle and strength. Can Arteta rally the players for a big performance? Are we going to see Ozil play 1 out of the 3 games or let him enjoy his weekly £350,000 by watching from the stands? More drama to unfold in this coming week. Don’t forget to watch the games!

The upcoming matches are (Singapore time):

  • Liverpool v Arsenal, Tuesday, 29 September 2020 at 3 a.m.
  • Liverpool v Arsenal, Friday, 2 October 2020 at 2.45 a.m.
  • Arsenal v Sheffield United, 4 October 2020 at 9 p.m.

In Arsenal Singapore news, our membership for this season is growing steadily. Some of you would have received the new, bruised banana card. The  Club is currently planning about 2-3 exciting events for the members before the end of the year. Do look out for the news in our social media platforms, Facebook and Instagram. We still need more members to sign up for Wenger’s Livestream event though. For this week, there will be a separate email on Club’s benefits and events.

On a separate note, I like to thank those who have sent me positive comments these past few weeks. I sincerely appreciate your kind words of encouragement. I chose to join the Exco to serve the members and I will continue to do so, with your unwavering support, to make our club the best supporters club in Singapore.

That’s all for this exciting week. Hope to send a positive newsletter next week. Come on Arsenal!
