Greetings Gooners!
There was no Partey last weekend as we lost 1 nil to Man City! Despite the result, the team played so much better this time round compared to the previous seasons. I felt that we made so much improvement that we could have won the match or at least drew with City. But then again, City was also missing some of their key players. In any case, it was a close call between the master and his disciple. Our new signing, Thomas, made a short cameo in the game and his introduction did not leave any considerable impact to the outcome. After 5 matches, it’s 3 wins and 2 losses in the Premier League for Arsenal. With more matches, I hope the team gradually improves in time to come and battle for the title. #trusttheprocess
There were several surprising results last weekend though. My favourite one had to be the last-minute scorcher from Lanzini. I shouted with joy when that happened. Oh yes, I watch the live matches whenever I can and not just Arsenal games. Villa and Everton remain unbeaten so far. As I’ve predicted previously, this will be an interesting season for all EPL fans! And it’s gotten more interesting with Ozil out of the squad and has issued a ‘dramatic’ statement to his fans. How will Arsenal respond to that?
It is the start of European games this week. Arsenal plays away to Rapid Vienna on Friday, 23 October 2020 at 12.55 am. Following this, the team hosts Leicester City for a Premier League match on Monday, 26 October 2020 at 3.15 am. COYG!
On a less serious note, a member asked me last week, if someone had proof-read my newsletters. I replied that the first lady would do so, if she’s not busy. Most of the time, I was just careless, relying on the prompts from the computer. Each week, I try my best to write an interesting newsletter, and it is not an easy task man. My main aim is to garner some form of reactions from the members, be it a smile, a smirk, some satisfaction, etc., after reading it. I am no editor but I endeavour to give the best I can. So, thank you Kevin Tan Tze Wee, for the comments and the reactions. For those who do not know him, he is the best emcee Arsenal Singapore ever have! You will see more of him in the Club’s future events.
