Greetings Gooners!!
Arsenal defended the FA Cup title well, with a win against Newcastle last Sunday. We were almost knocked out if not for the skills and bravery of Leno. The players huff and puff throughout the match and eventually, secured a win, with a brace from Emile and Auba in extra time. What a start to the FA Cup campaign! That special sleeve patch, with number 14, is top-class. Next round, it is either Southampton or Shrewsbury.
There is no transfer/loan news for this window at the moment. The good news is that Holding has signed a new contract. He is not a super-central defender kind of player, but he has been impressive, and he is English. It is unlikely that Arsenal will buy new players, other than looking for a proper deputy for Leno but who knows. There might be a miracle!
It is back to the EPL this week. Another early morning game this Friday, 15 January 2021 at 4 am against Crystal Palace at the Emirates. Come on you Gunners!
