Greetings Gooners! North London is red! It’s red!
But first, a 3-1 win over Olympiacos. We took control of the match, Ødegaard scored a spectacular strike to open his goal account and after that, Arsenal gifted a goal to the home side, in similar fashion in the Burnley game. From then on, Olympiacos looked likely to score the winning goal. But Arsenal persevered. In the final 10 minutes, Arsenal scored two more goals, to take 3-away goals advantage for the second leg.
And what a win against Mourinho’s Cocks. That game really highlighted the intensity, the drama, the goals and the passion, needed for a North London Derby. Lamela scored a special goal, Ødegaard equalised to increase his tally to 2 goals, a penalty awarded to Arsenal which was not exactly a penalty, Lamela got sent off, and Spurs took control of the game in the final 10 minutes and nearly equalised. Heart-thumping game for me and it made the win sweet! The referee was on our side this time. Sweeter!
The second leg against Olympiacos is tomorrow, 19 March 2021 at 1.55 am. I am confident that we can go through to the quarter finals, unless Arsenal decides to compete with a (water) pistol and Olympiacos chooses a bazooka. After that, another London Derby between West Ham and Arsenal on Sunday, 21 March 2021 at 11 pm.
On Tuesday, 16 March 2021, I attended a gathering organised by the British High Commission, together with the EPL supporter Clubs, i.e, Liverpool, Chelsea, Spurs, Man United and Man City. Her Excellency is a Pool fan and the gathering served to provide insights on how the supporters are coping with the Covid-19 situation and also to understand how the clubs run locally. Undeniably, Arsenal Sg is very organised, runs both community and social events regularly.
I am proud to represent Arsenal Sg. Even in this pandemic, all of us were able to contribute as a club and we have successfully held online events for everyone to participate. More good things to come for sure, as the Exco and I planned for something special for our members. And I can only hope for the members’ participation and support.
