The new EPL season is starting this Saturday, 14 August 2021, with Arsenal kicking off the campaign, playing an away London derby against Brentford FC. The match starts at 3.00 a.m. Yes, it is an early Saturday morning game #dejavu
This is the first time that Brentford is playing at the highest level after gaining promotion last season. The last time Arsenal played against the Bees was in 2018, League Cup competition in which the Gunners beat them 3-1. Before that, it was in 1947. It will be an interesting game to kick-off the league.
Arsenal had recently lost 2 friendlies against their London rivals. The results look unpromising, and in recent times, Arsenal don’t perform well against newly promoted teams. I hope that our fortune will change this time round and see a new Arsenal this coming season.

The start of a new season means that the Annual General Meeting is around the corner. Due to the restrictions, we are not able to have a physical meeting. A virtual meeting has been scheduled on 28 August 2021. More details will be provided.
Another reminder for the ‘voting’ members who have not renewed the membership to make the renewal. The renewal fee of $20 is a one-time offer this season. It is a modest relief support for our esteemed members in this pandemic environment.
