Featured Members’ Trips to The Arsenal – Lance Lim

Our President sends his match report from the North London derby vs Spurs!

1 October 2022, it’s match day and a sunny morning in London. The sun came out for one of the most important fixtures on the Arsenal calendar. Woke up, bright and early, quick breakfast put on my Arsenal kit and it was on to the piccadilly line to Holloway Road. The tube was packed with Arsenal fans as the chants of Red Army started as soon as we alighted from the tube and on the way to The Emirates.

Quick walk around the stadium, do watch out for nasty horse shit along the ground, got to the block early, had a quick chat with Jin over a pint of beer and it was on to the game. The atmosphere was electric! Definitely THE BEST atmosphere at the Emirates compared to previous home games, the ground was bouncing! Fans were up for it, all of us hoping the boys were too!

Kick off started and we started off brightly. We knew that spurs would sit back and spring the counter midfield was important to control the game. Breakthrough came as Partey scored a screamer towards the clockend where we were sitting and there was pandamonium in the stands! Partey struck that so sweetly! One sloppy clearance later, Spuds were awarded a penalty, converted by Harry Kane. 1-1 at half time.

2nd half kicked off in the best possible way, with Gabriel Jesus poking home the goal 2-1 to the Arsenal and moments, red card to Emerson Royal and finally GOONER GRANIT smashed home the winner to seal all 3 points! Then a fire drill happened as we saw Sp*ds fans slowly make their way towards the exits, tail between their legs.

Some stand out performances from Partey, Saliba and Xhaka! These lads provided a solid foundation for us to build such a wonderful performance and a beautiful Arsenal day!
