Our member Kim de Silva shares his visit to The Arsenal to watch the team take on West Ham

Arsenal vs West Ham United

I never would’ve imagined being at the Emirates Stadium on match day surrounded by Gooners along with the presence of our Thierry Henry and the man himself, Arsene Wenger. The atmosphere was terrific, and I was excited beyond words!

The first half wasn’t exactly how I pictured it to be with conceding a penalty that led to a goal, but it definitely had an happy ending. I must say we were pressed pretty hard at some moments, but the lads kept their composure and they dealt with most of the challenges West Ham had coming their way. I felt a great sense of satisfaction each time we won duals and defended well against set pieces. And the goals… oh my were they all beautiful! SAKA, MARTINELLI, NKETIAH BRAVO!!!! Also a shout out to our captain, Odegaard, for putting up one of the greatest performances that night. 

Being able to watch the Gunners live in action, was everything I’ve been hoping for since I was 11. I am proud to call myself a gooner, and I will continue to do so till the end. This trip will definitely not be my last. COYG!
