Greetings Gooners!

Answer this quickly, Arsenal in the bottom 10 this season or Arsenal winning the Europa league? Hahaha… Both occurrences could happen to the team this season. Last week, the team won 0-3 comfortably against Molde and lost 1-2 at home against Wolves. #wth

The last time Arsenal was at the bottom 10 positions, was during the 1994/95 season, in which the team languished at the 12th spot. 1994 was also the year that Arsenal last won a European competition. The team is currently unbeaten in the Europa league but has lost 5 games in the EPL. Something is terribly wrong with the team and at this stage of the season, it is critical that Arteta sort the issues to make the team competitive again. I hope everyone does not lose hope with the Club and continues to support the red/white. For me, I will endure and lose my sleep to watch the games and see through the ups and downs of the club. It is the best roller coaster ride ever!

This week, Arsenal hosts Rapid Vienna for the Europa tie on 4 December 2020 at 4 am and then travels to play Spurs on 7 December 2020 at 12.30 am. COYG!!!

The registration for the Arsenal Sg Virtual Run 2020 scheduled on 12 December 2020, is ending this Friday, 4 December 2020. A signed, framed print of Aubameyang is up for grab! Quickly sign-up for those who are interested. The details are attached below.

Arsenal Singapore Newsletter, 26 November 2020

Greetings Gooners!

It was a wonderful pre-Leeds v Arsenal match Zoom gathering last Sunday! 50 out of 301 registered members attended the event. The highest number of attendees thus far. It was great seeing the faces of the new and old members after quite a long while. I must say that the gathering was a success. The guest from the Arsenal was hugely impressed with how we coped with the Covid’s restrictions and continued to support the red and white. I am very sure that all the 50 members enjoyed the night, especially the lucky 20 who won fabulous prizes from the trivia. Prize collection will be arranged in due course and this will be shared to the winners.

And the match itself, what can I say. Arsenal was luckier than our 20 members. Despite playing with 10 men for most of the second half, the team managed to secure a point against a domineering Leeds side. I hope that it was just the ‘interlull syndrome’ suffered by the team and they really, really, really, really, really have to learn their lesson because the fixtures are heavy in the next few weeks. Arteta and his players have to bounce from this setback.

Arsenal travels to Molde FC for the Europa tie on 27 November 2020 at 1.55 am and then hosts Wolves on 30 November 2020 at 3.15 am. COYG and don’t lose hope!!

Yesterday, some of us attended the Legends Club event with Nigel Winterburn. There were Q&A sessions where he shared some perspectives about Arsenal this season. He acknowledged that the club is in a transforming process but still miles away from Liverpool and Man City. He was impressed with our current defensive component but agreed that the team lacks the creativity in midfield. We’ve got Ozil, Mesut Ozil…but he’s not in the squad. Well…..

The registration for the Arsenal Sg Virtual Run 2020 is still ongoing. At the moment, we only have 45 members registered for the event. We need more participants for this and the closing date is 4 December 2020, which is less than 2 weeks from now. The details are attached below.

For participants of the Fantasy League, please email your names, membership numbers and team names to lance@arsenalsingapore.com for verification.

Kindly refer to the previous newsletters on club’s promotion. Cheers!

Greetings Gooners!

Anyone having withdrawal syndrome because of the international break? Well, the next Arsenal game is scheduled on Monday, 23 November 2020 at 12.30am when the team travels to Elland Road to play against Leeds United. I predict that it’ll be a tough match for the Arsenal.

For now, here are the upcoming events and promotions for our members:

Pre-match Zoom gathering- Before the Leeds game, Arsenal Singapore will host a private Zoom pre-match gathering for our members. There will be simple trivia and the Club will give away F&B vouchers from FIVE worth $600. Entry is FREE and we can only allow 100 members to log-in. The gathering starts at 11.15pm on 22 November 2020 and the main event starts at 11.30am sharp.

Arsenal Sg Virtual Run 2020– This is both a competitive and non-competitive event for only our members, with great prizes to be won, especially the frame, signed-print of Aubameyang. All you need to do is to run/jog/walk/crawl a distance of 5-km, at any outdoor location in Singapore, wearing your Arsenal shirt, on 12 December 2020, anytime between 0001 hours to 2359 hours. First 40 members who register, will receive a $50 Five voucher.

A tip for you: From home, you walk to a coffeeshop for 1-km, drink a bottle of beer, and then continue to walk another 3-km to a café, have some light bites and then walk home the remaining 1-km. This must be done continuously. As long as you can complete the 5-km, in a single attempt and it took 6-10 hours to complete this feat, we will accept the entry. It’s easy!  See the attached document below for the details.
