Dear Singapore Gooners,

Happy National Day!
August is truly the month of Red & White. For Singapore. For The Arsenal!

Are we there yet? Yes, season kicks off this Sunday. Lolo (Capt Kos) is gone. Rambo, Cech, Welbeck, Ospina have bid adieu too. The new lads Pepe, Martinelli, Ceballos will bring something more dynamic. It’s almost an all-new Arsenal era, isn’t it? Emery’s Arsenal… or rather Edu/Raul/Vinai’s Arsenal! hahaaha

Here are your announcements for this week.

1. Membership renewals and new sign-ups
Members and public can now renew your membership or apply for new membership via our new online portal. No more queuing on match nights necessary! And remember once you have renewed, your membership cards will be mailed to your registered address in our database. This will take about 2 to 3 weeks. So please ensure your mailing address, mobile number and email you have provided is current and accurate.

Here is the link for membership renewal:

2. Collection of membership cards from past seasons
Those members who have yet to collect your cards for past 2 years, please collect them from Exco team on match nights in August. All cards not collected by 31st August 2019 will be disposed off thereafter. Thanks for your cooperation and understanding on this matter.

Onto this Sunday, it’s the 2019/2020 season kick-off.
Newcastle v The Arsenal, Sunday 11th August, 9pm. Doors open at 7pm. Come watch the game with your fellow Gooners. Grab your dinner there too. Sing loud and proud everyone.

Hello Fellow Singapore Gooners,

We’re on our way, we’re on our way,
We’re going to Baku, we’re on our way,
How we get there, we don’t know,
How we get there, we don’t care,
All we know is we are on our wayyyy

How about that, another European Cup Final coming up after 13 years! OK it’s not the Champions League in Madrid but hey playing in Baku is better than playing in Kallang right? (If you’ve seen the meme you know what I’m talking about 😀 :D) It’s also Petr Cech’s final game before retirement and it’s very fitting that he will be playing against his old club Chelsea, it’s better than a testimonial! Aubamayang, our Golden Boot winner is on a hot streak now, having scored 7 goals in his last 4 games, can he keep up his good form? And since it’s our only way back to the Champions League next season, we MUST beat them, so Come On You Gunners!!!

Five Oriental will open for this game, k.o. Thu 30 May 3am (doors open midnight). There is a cover charge of $20 which includes a 1st drink and only a limited number of tickets will be sold so hurry up and click on the link below. Arsenal Singapore members get 1st priority and then we will open up to other Gooners on our FB page later this week. #maituliao #maikongbojio

Finally, the charity which Arsenal Singapore has been supporting, Children’s Aid Society, are organising a charity movie screening during the upcoming June school holidays for the movie ‘The Secret Life of Pets 2’ at GV VivoCity on 12 June 2019 (Wed) at 7:10pm. For every donation of $50, you will receive a movie ticket + popcorn & drink combo. Please click on this link for more details and to make your donation https://www.giving.sg/children-s-aid-society/casmovie2019

That’s it for this week,

COME ON ARSENAL!!!

Hello Fellow Singapore Gooners,

What can I say, there’s only one way to the Champions League next season now, we need to lose by no more than 1 goal in Valencia and win in Baku … unless we beat Burnley with a hat-trick each from Laca and Auba AND Walcott does the same against Sp*rs next Sunday.

Five Oriental will be open from 8pm on Sun 12 May for k.o. at 10pm and signups and renewals from 830pm to 930pm. The pub will not be open for the Valencia game. This is the last game of the Premier League and massive clear out and re-building needed this Summer and Unai has to give more opportunities to our youngsters since our owner is not willing to spend big.

The first batch of the new membership EZ link cards for those who signed up or renewed on 7 and 21 April have been posted out, the next batch will go out by end May/early June. This weekend will be the last opportunity to renew or buy Arsenal Singapore merchandise until August so please come down.

That’s it for now,

COME ON ARSENAL!!!
