Our President Lance Lim shares his visit to The Arsenal to watch the team take on Tottenham Hotspurs in September 2023.
The North London Derby, always one of the first fixtures to look out for when the fixtures list releases. Am so blessed to be able to attend last year’s and this year’s NLD at the Emirates special thanks to Arsenal Singapore for arranging this.
We have a big group this year of 15 pax and we managed to secure the VIP matchday experience which includes being in the tunnel to welcome the players as they arrive at the Emirates as well as a photo opportunity with William Saliba at the end of the match.
On top of that, I’m also happy to represent Arsenal Singapore Supporters Club to do a couple of interviews pitchside for Arsenal TV as well as the pre-match programme. This gave me a front row ticket to watch the players warm up and look out for legends like Bobby Pires and BFG Per Mertesacker at the ground.
It was a pulsating game that ended 2-2. I think since the match alot have been discussed i.e. Jorginho’s error, Rice’s absence in the 2nd half, Jesus’s 1 v 1 miss but what we all can agree on is that the team has come a long way from the last 5 years. What we see on the pitch now is something that all of us can be proud of and we’re definitely on the up.
The atmosphere at the emirates was amazing and a huge improvement from the atmosphere that existed 17 years ago when we first moved to the emirates. Singing along to North London Forever & chanting together with the clock end boys. Attending a game live is an experience like no other, once again, thank you Arsenal Singapore for arranging the VIP matchday experience and the 14 gooners for making this trip such a memorable one.
