Our member Daniel Goh shares his visit to The Arsenal to watch the team take on Tottenham Hotspurs in September 2023.
I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to Dhanesh and Arsenal Singapore for organizing and planning the trip to our lovely home of the Emirates against our fierce rivals.
The opportunity to see the first team entering the dressing room was a once in a lifetime experience for me and I hold the memories close to my heart. It was good to see the gaffer up close and new signings like Havertz. When it was time to see our fiercest rival fans enter the dressing room, we were told to hold respect for them and not jeer them as we are respectable fans worldwide which I liked the idea a lot.
The view was phenomenal, and it was great to see our first goal in through a deflection by Romero. The atmosphere was exceptional, but the rival fans were getting to cocky and loud once Son equalised. We were unfortunate to not take three points home, guess we would have to teach them a lesson at their home ground to enjoy our celebrations against them by beating yearly. Nevertheless, I felt that we should trust the process and we will see us reap the rewards at the end of the season.
Our end game experience with William Saliba was great as we all took a group photo with him. He was standing tall in person. Lastly, it was great to bump into our great legend Ray Parlour who was a joyful and friendly in person.
I look forward to future matches soon and once again to Dhanesh and Arsenal Singapore, I appreciate all that you’ve done. Thank you once again for your outstanding efforts.
