Our member Amierul Rashid shares his visit to The Arsenal to watch the team take on Sevilla in November 2023.

Growing up, Champions League nights would mean setting up an alarm for 3am and quietly supporting my Arsenal while everyone else is asleep.

8 November 2023 was different. I was actually at the Emirates Stadium for Arsenal versus Sevilla.

There was a buzz on the night but just before kick-off, everything quietened down as everyone rose to their feet.

North London Forever.

I was seated at the Clock End and belting the song with 60,000 other Gooners was quite the experience. I could not stop smiling and we haven’t even started the game yet!

As for the game, what else is there to say? We are good, like really good.

Jorgi’s vision for the first goal was ridiculous. Saliba’s recovery speed for a Sevilla counter-attack had some of us laughing even. And it was fun to see their right back be tormented by Martinelli time after time.

2-0 on the night, nice and comfortable. Qualify top of the group and who knows where this Champions League journey will take us?

I absolutely loved my first game at the Emirates, thank you for all the memories Arsenal Singapore!

"People ask me what I do in the winter when there's no baseball. I'll tell you what I do. I stare out the window and wait for spring."
