Our member GJ Chee shares his visit to The Arsenal to watch the team take on RC Lens in November 2023.

“Huge thanks to Arsenal Singapore & Dhanesh for hooking us up with 2 tickets to watch Arsenal’s Champions League home fixture against RC Lens!

My last visit to the Emirates was back in 2012 when I was 15. Although we were playing against West Brom that day, I had to settle for radio commentary outside the stadium as I did not get my hands on any tickets.

Fast forward 11 years, finally made my way back to the Emirates Stadium with my partner (now a converted football & Arsenal fan!) to catch the Gunners back in Champions League action! Couldn’t have asked for a better performance as we comfortably won the game 6-0 (P.S. We witnessed 5 goals on our side of the stadium in the first half alone!)

Props to the RC Lens fans seated below us though. Could hear them loud & clear throughout the 90 mins despite getting battered (although it was disappointing when they set off flares in the away end).

After so many years on the sidelines, it’s exciting to see the famous Red & White challenging for top honours again. Our time is now, COYG!!!”
