Our member Roger Yeo shares his visit to The Arsenal to watch the team take on Wolverhampton Wanderers in December 2023.
I’ve been supporting Arsenal since 1989, when we won the First Division in dramatic fashion by beating Liverpool 2-0 at Anfield to clinch the title on number of goals scored. In March 2009, I had my first match experience at the Emirates, when we beat Burnley 3-0 in the FA Cup fifth round.
While planning for my year end London trip with my family this year, I started to plan to insert watching an Arsenal match into our itinerary. A big thank you to Dhanesh and Arsenal SG for securing tickets (Arsenal vs Wolves 2 Dec 23) for me and my 11 year-old son, our first Live Premier League match experience.
My son is never an Arsenal fanatic like myself, hence I’m trying to get him get interested, especially on Arsenal by bringing him to watch a Live Arsenal match at the Emirates. And we can start feeling the party atmosphere and vibes when we squeeze into the tube towards Arsenal station. All the fans singing and cheering, even before reaching the stadium, is simply magical.
We started the match strongly, Saka scoring in the 6th min, Odegaard making it 2-0 in the 13th min. In fact, my son even managed to video down the first goal when he’s fiddling to take videos of the match. The Wolverhampton fans were just seated below us, and we can hear their persistent cheering, but I’m quite confident this is definitely going to be an easy win for us. They managed to score a consolation goal in the 86 min, making the final score 2-1.
I’m quietly confident this team will win us the title this season. Arteta is doing all the right stuffs, this team is playing with lots of confidence, Declan Rice is pure class, and I seriously believe that he’s the missing link that cost us the title last season.
