Greetings Singapore Gooners!!!

Happy midweek.

What a great start to the new 2024/2025 EPL season, with a 2-0 win against Wolves last Saturday. Thank you to those that packed our new venue, Molly Malone’s, and attended the AGM event, witnessing a new Arsenal SG’s EXCO line-up and the first live screening. Yes, many new things to look out for this season and hopefully a new, energized Arsenal vying for honors. Go to our IG and FB for photos and details of the event.

A slightly long newsletter this week. Please bear with me as I share with you on 4 matters concerning Arsenal SG.

1. Members: We have more than 500 members last season. This season, we are at slightly above 300 from both renewals and new sign-ups. The numbers are growing. Please renew your membership if you have not done so. Recommend your family, partners and friends to take up the membership instead of signing them up only when applying for match tickets.  

2. Partners: It is the first time that we have a proper Sports Bar in Molly Malone’s/BQ Bar. It is located conveniently and shows late games as well. No cover charge for entry and attractive discounts are given to members. Weston Corp, an entity providing a wide range of Arsenal merchandise, is also onboarded with us with discounted pricing for members. To emphasize, post-Covid, establishments have recovered well and it is not easy to have reputable partners. Who needs Arsenal SG anyway. But, we need them and this is where we seek members to support the cause. It is a dollars and cents game and if we fail in this area, partners will not be interested to be affiliated with us.    

3. Events: With more members, we will organize futsal, running, golf, community work, etc., amongst our members to foster physical bond. We will tag members’ attendances to these events for collation and records. We hope for your support in these initiatives.

4. EXCO: We are 100% volunteers, putting in additional Arsenal’s hours into our daily lives through handling of social media and enquiries, match tickets, memberships, planning, etc. Be patient with the EXCO as they handle these for the club and members. The EXCO endeavors to improve each season and please provide feedback with recommendation/proposal, if any. Do buy us a drink or 2 when you see them. HeheHehe, no obligation though!

The next Arsenal game is a visit to Villa Park with Unai’s Villain on 25 August 2024 at 12.30 am. And yes, it will be screened at Molly Malone’s. Last I checked, Villa did a double against Arsenal last season. Hopefully, we can see a resurrected, super-hero team this time. I’ll be at Molly’s for the game. Will you be there?
