Hello Gooners!
An early one this week. I have not been well since the weekend and still reeling from our first defeat of the season, against Bournemouth for that matter. Honestly, I don’t keep tabs on the Cherries but their team is as international as Arsenal can be. Totally unexpected and this shows that the lower rung teams are getting ambitious and competitive. When I investigated the club further, I found out that the club is partly owned by an American actor. Just like Wrexham!
It was not the best display from the Gunners but one of the factors highlighted was the Vitality Stadium’s pitch. This impacted the way Arsenal moved the ball effectively. It was akin to asking Arsenal to play at Jalan Besar Stadium.. something like that lah! Could it also be because of the trefoil Adidas kit? Truly, it is such a beautiful shirt with superb designs. I think it is a bit too early to tell if the kit is cursed given that the team only wore it once. It doesn’t help when we have a past history of blue kits that brought negative results.
Away from superstitious and other factors, perhaps, it was good to finally lose a game during the early stage of the season. This reduces the stress/pressure of maintaining that unbeaten run. Hopefully, the loss would be a catalyst for the team to get better results and perform exceptionally in all competitions. Amen!
Two matches are slated this week. A Champions League game against Shakhtar Donetsk on Wednesday, 23 October 2024 at 3 am. Following that, we have a Saliba-less Arsenal hosting Liverpool on Monday, 28 October 2024 at 12.30 am. There is no live screening of both games.
I am so looking forward to the inaugural Arsenal Singapore Golf event this weekend in Batam. We will post the photographs to share the highlights. And thank you to all members and their friends who are supportive of the initiative.
