Our member AungNyan Pho shares his visit to The Arsenal to watch the team take on Ipswich Town in December 2024.

First of all, thank you very much Arsenal Singapore for making my dreams come true. Happy New Year!

It is totally different watching the game on the screen and in the stadium.

I am not saying about the atmosphere but all about the players how they are performing on the pitch and the tactical analysis of the coach.

I would say we still have a lot of things to improve but anyway in terms of five years with the same coach and the number of high quality players we have brought in, we should be performing at the highest level with consistency.

During the game, IPS defenders played a bit high-line at some moments ,and when Declan Rice, Martin Odegaard have the ball, I could see Gabriel Jesus, Martinell and Trossard are trying to make a good run between the defenders ,but I am not sure if it is due to tactics of Mikel or the players’ lack of key-pass vision, the ball is always going to the flanks and back pass. I could see players are feeling uncertainty when they have the ball to pass forward. I really miss Cesc, Alex, Jack, Santi, Mesut those pass masters. Kai is an absolutely intelligent player just like Mesut Özil. His movement and the way he reads the game is really impressive. I love watching Lewis Kelly as well. He is really brave, determined and enjoys playing football. Mikel is trying to play him as an inverted fullback like Zinchenko, Unlike him, Lewis is good at both on the ball and defensive ,and a brave boy. I am sure he will be a great player like Bukayo.

Anyway, starting from 2025 hopefully Mikel can sort out the issue of creativity, get the replacement of Martinelli and regain the energy that we used to have back in last season and 2022-23.

I wish EPL is ours this season.
