Our member Joel Ho shares his visit to The Arsenal to watch the team take on Manchester City in February 2025.

Stay Humble eh

As I approached the Emirates Stadium, I could feel the energy in the air—the buzz of anticipation, the murmurs of unfinished business. After the disappointment of the reverse fixture in September, we were all eager for redemption. Thanks to Arsenal Singapore, I had the incredible opportunity to witness this star-studded clash live, an afternoon filled with drama, goals, and unforgettable moments. Before heading to my seat, I walked around the touchline, soaking in the atmosphere. And then—pure luck—I found myself face-to-face with Arsenal royalty, none other than our legendary ex-captain, Mr. Tony Adams. To meet a man who embodied the very spirit of this club was surreal. A quick chat, a photo, and even an autograph—an experience I’ll cherish forever!

Settling into my spot at the Clock End, I was excited and nervous. Would Arsenal rise to the occasion? The game had barely begun when Ødegaard fired us ahead just 103 seconds in, thanks to an unselfish assist from Havertz. But the real drama came in the second half! Haaland equalized with a powerful header before we roared back to life. Thomas Partey responded almost immediately with a thunderous strike from outside the box, sending the Emirates into a frenzy. Then came a special moment—Myles Lewis-Skelly, one of our own, smashed home his first senior goal. The raw emotion, the passion—it was what football is all about. Havertz then capped off with a fantastic counter-attack, making it 4-1. But we aren’t done yet. With the final kick of the game, another Hale End starlet, Ethan Nwaneri, put the cherry on top—a sublime left-footed finish curled just inside the post. 5-1. What a statement!

This was more than just a win. The Premier League title? Still up for grabs.

Up the Arsenal!
