Good morning and happy Tuesday Singapore Gooners!

Who would have thought that Mikel Merino was Arsenal’s saviour last Saturday, by scoring a brace in the last 10 minutes against Leicester. The team tried their very best in the first three quarters of the game but could not find that winning goal. The final quarter proved to be the dramatic one, as the converted defensive midfielder got that 3-point for the team with a header and a spectacular tap-in. Thankfully, he was still celebrating Valentine’s Day as the goals were gifts to his beloved wife. Hopefully he got his hatrick when he returned home to his wife.

Probably that was the reason why Arsenal did not buy any players during the recent transfer market. We have versatile players who can easily perform at any position. I won’t be surprised if Neto starts as keeper and Raya plays striker. Hehehehe! But that 70 minutes of the match showed that we have insufficient depth in the team without the likes of Saka, Jesus and Havertz. I am truly concerned if the current talents have got what it takes to push the team through the end of the season. Then again, Arsenal is full of surprises! #artetaknows We can only hope for the best from the team.

With the 2-1 win against Wolves, Liverpool maintains the 7-point lead at the top of the table. Let’s hope that Good Ebening can do us a favour this Thursday. Come on Villa!

One game this week, a London derby against the Hammers at the Emirates. The match is on Saturday, 22 February 2025 at 11.00 pm. There’ll be live screening at Molly Malone’s. One more week for Arteta to train Merino to be a full-fledged striker. He’s got the look, the cutting, the physique and the scoring celebration for the role.

COYG!

Have a great week ahead.
