Good evening Gooners!
Arsenal’s 2024/2025 campaign is over. Thank you to the 20 members who attended the gathering at BQ Bar to watch the final game of the season, witnessing the 2-1 win against the Saints and watching them march into the Championship. If only it was the Spuds that went down! These deserving members will be rewarded in some way when the team visits Singapore in July 2025, especially when slots are very limited.
To summarise, Arsenal was placed second in the Premier League and that’s 3 seasons in a row. But we did better in other competitions, though, as semi-finalists in the Champions League and EFL Cup, losing to PSG and Newcastle, respectively. Conversely, we have yet to advance from the third round of FA Cup with the all-white kit. All in all, it was a trophyless season. Arsenal has not won any silverware since the FA Cup of the 2019/2020 season. Not sure if the Community Shield, won last season (2023/2024), is counted.
Alas, Liverpool is the champion this season. Not because they were good. It is just that the other teams were shite! ManYoo and Spuds were the best examples. While Arsenal did very well in defence this season, we did not have ample coverage in attack. Several attacking players were injured at the same time and we ended up with a makeshift team. We had 4 losses this season, which was very good, but there were too many unexpected draws. Bad circumstances were against us this season, yet again. I am no football expert and can only comment in relation to the performances and results/outcome. What happened behind the scenes? Only Arteta and the team knew best in terms of decision-making, the transfer market, tactics, etc., etc. and etc..
And so, as Gooners, we can only look forward to this July and the start of the 2025/2026 season. It’s time to reset, reboot and restart.
