Our member Clarence Toh shares his visit to The Arsenal to watch the team take on PSV Eindhoven in March 2025.
It was a fantastic March 2025 Football trip for me and my wife. We managed to catch Arsenal at Old Trafford in a thrilling 1-1 draw, watch our record breaking agg 9-3 win against Dutch Champions PSV and we finally ended our London trip with a win against the Chavs! Many thanks to Arsenal Singapore for giving us the opportunity for the 2 tickets to watch Arsenal in the Champions League for the first time!

Our road to Munich couldn’t have started better in our first knockout match with a record breaking 7-1 win! That also meant that many locals didn’t bother to turn up for the return leg and that in turn gave us plenty of opportunities to roam around. During our matchday stadium tour a few hours ago, our host saw that we are from Arsenal Singapore club and said he could give us a tour around club level before the match to our delight. We enjoyed the wonderful hospitality and it was absolutely world class food in comparison to the dross that was served to us at Old Trafford a week ago. In the end as there were just too many empty seats, he mentioned that we do not need to go to the upper tier for our original seats and we stayed at club level to watch the match.

The PSV away fans were absolutely amazing. They completely packed the away end to the rafters and never once stopped singing. Full respect to them, not many other club supporters would travel all the way down and be singing non stop like this when they are 7-1 down from the first leg. At 9-2 down, they continued to sing and chant even louder and are probably the best away fans I have witnessed at the Emirates. Many of them stayed around after the final whistle to mingle with us Gooners and were really friendly. Fair play to the Dutch fans.

The match itself was nothing dramatic. We played a fringe team and I thought we played pretty well, but was slack in defence understandably given that we had a commanding lead. Was very impressed with Zinchenko in his natural 8 position as he dictated play and scored an absolutely beautiful goal from the edge of the area. Tierney also delivered some telling crosses from the left and how I wish we could find space for him to stay at the club. Top servant, never complain and always professional. MLS was just a beast as usual and Kiwior was solid (he better be against Real!!). But special mention to Sterling! Probably his best match in an Arsenal shirt, was a menace from start to end and even though he was unlucky not to score, he managed 2 great assists. 90 minutes flew by quickly and overall a fantastic experience for our first UCL match, we simply can’t wait to go to another one!
After the match, we ate some fantastic burgers from the Arsenal street peddlers and then walked back to our apartment at Highbury Square (highly recommend Gooners to book there). Till next time~~~
