Our member Chan Song Hua shares his visit to The Arsenal to watch the team take on Fulham in April 2025.

What a night at the Emirates! Arsenal’s 2-1 win over Fulham on 1st April was more than just the 3 points.

News of our Star Boy’s return got everyone hyped up for the night. The atmosphere was electric from the get-go, and when Mikel Merino slotted in the opener after a lovely bit of play involving Nwaneri, the place erupted. It felt like a reward for a first half where we had control but needed that spark.

But honestly, the emotional moment of the night was seeing Bukayo Saka back. The cheer that erupted when he came on gave me goosebumps, and when he headed in that second goal, it was pure goosebump territory. Pure goosebump territory. His return just lifted everyone, and the whole stadium erupted! Everyone could feel how much the return meant to him, the team, and all the fans in the stands.

The only real downer was Gabriel’s injury. Watching him limp off early was worrying, and hearing later that he’s out for the season really stings. He’s been solid all year.

Fulham grabbed one back at the death, but it never really felt like they’d spoil the night. Everyone was buzzing as they left the stadium—not just about the win, but about what this team can still do. Saka’s back. The belief is back. And as a fan, it doesn’t get much better than that.

Quote of the week

"People ask me what I do in the winter when there's no baseball. I'll tell you what I do. I stare out the window and wait for spring."
