A Week of Statement Wins – UEFA Champions League
Arsenal 4-0 Atlético Madrid. A breathtaking performance at the Emirates! To put four past a Diego Simeone side is a monumental achievement. The real highlight was seeing our number 14, end his drought with a brilliant brace. The team sits 4th in the group stage, boasting a perfect record: 8 goals for, 0 conceded. A true statement of intent in Europe.
The Title Race Heats Up
Arsenal 1-0 Crystal Palace, courtesy of a solitary goal from their ex-player Eberechi Eze. A gritty and a professional performance overall from the Gunners. While the scoreline was narrow, the three points were massive. The defence was a rock, weathering the inevitable late pressure from Palace with immense composure. A clean sheet and a win is the hallmark of potential champions. The weekend couldn’t have gone better. While we grinded out our win, our rivals stumbled. Manchester City fell to Unai Emery’s Villa, and Liverpool succumbed to another defeat. The result? The Gunners sit top of the league, opening up a crucial 4-point gap. It’s a huge advantage at this stage.
The games are coming thick and fast, and squad rotation will be key. Keeping the key players fresh is the challenge for Arteta now.
