Gunners Riding World Cup Qualification Wave
The return from the international break brings a mix of optimism and concern for Arsenal. Several Arsenal players will be returning with boosted confidence after their national teams officially qualified for the 2026 World Cup. Accordingly, the list of qualified nations includes England, Spain, France, Germany, and Brazil, among others. This meant that our key players will be highly motivated to perform at their best in the coming months to secure a place in their national squads for the tournament in the United States, Mexico, and Canada.

Unfortunately, the international break has also come with a cost, as Arsenal has suffered at least one significant injury. The most notable blow is to defender Gabriel Magalhaes, who sustained a muscle injury to his right thigh while playing for Brazil in a friendly at the Emirates Stadium. Initial reports suggest he could be sidelined for at least four weeks, potentially missing up to seven matches. The injury to Gabriel is particularly poorly timed given the importance of the immediate fixtures. The team faces a demanding schedule across multiple competitions, NLD, Champions League match against Bayern, followed by a game against Chelsea.

The team is also managing other fitness issues. Key striker Viktor Gyokeres remains out with a hamstring injury, while Kai Havertz has suffered a small relapse in his recovery from a knee injury. There is some positive news, as Riccardo Calafiori’s hip issue is reportedly not anticipating a big problem and players like Gabriel Martinelli and Noni Madueke could be in contention to return.

Despite the concern around the absence of Gabriel and company, with the team’s squad depth, their injuries should not derail our title challenge. The availability of William Saliba, Ben White, Piero Hincapie and Riccardo Calafiori, showed improved defensive cover, a lesson learned from past season injury crises. The team’s ability to navigate this challenging period will depend on how well the squad adapts to these absences.

Arsenal v Spurs – Live screening
Date: Monday, 24th November 2025, Kick-off: 12.30 AM
Live screening at BQ Bar

The latest chapter of the North London Derby will see Arsenal host Spurs at the Emirates Stadium. Michael Oliver is slated to be the match official. Yucks! Historically, Arsenal has a strong record in this fixture, especially at home. They are unbeaten in their last 12 home league games and have lost just one of their last 31 home league matches against Tottenham. Both squads are dealing with significant injury concerns, which could heavily influence the match’s outcome.

It will be one interesting NLD and let’s support the boys in red and white. See you at BQ Bar.

"People ask me what I do in the winter when there's no baseball. I'll tell you what I do. I stare out the window and wait for spring."
