Greetings Gooners! It is Christmas week, with two pivotal games for Arsenal in the Carabao Cup and Premiership at the Emirates.
Arsenal top of the table at Christmas
Last weekend, the Gunners secured a vital 1-0 victory at Hill Dickinson Stadium, ensuring they will sit top of the Premier League table at Christmas. The decisive moment came in the first half when Viktor Gyökeres coolly converted from the penalty spot. Arsenal’s performance was one of control and could have been more comfortable. Both Leandro Trossard and Martin Zubimendi came agonizingly close to doubling the lead, each striking the woodwork in the second half.
The result marked a hard-fought away win and back-to-back victories for Mikel Arteta’s side, solidifying their position as the league’s leader. Both Man City and Aston Villa won their games. It is a 2 and 3 point difference respectively in the top 3 positions. It is very, very close. The battle is far from over.

Carabao Cup Quarter-Final Preview: Arsenal vs Crystal Palace – No live screening

The focus now shifts to cup competition as Arsenal host London rivals Crystal Palace in the Carabao Cup quarter-finals. The Gunners will be buoyed by their 1-0 league win over the Eagles in late October, while Palace are looking to bounce back from a heavy 4-1 defeat to Leeds United.
With a place in the semi-finals on the line, expect a tense and tactical battle as both teams aim to take a major step towards Wembley.

This will be a match between two teams currently performing well. Arsenal is in strong form, having won three of their last five league matches (Form: D-W-L-W-W). They have been particularly dominant at home, winning all of their home games this season. Brighton has had mixed results recently (Form: W-W-L-D-L). Their away form is a concern, with just one win in their last five away matches.
The odds heavily favour the Arsenal. We need the players to just get that win no matter what!
