Good morning Gooners!

Overall, it was great last week. Arsenal did not lose and our closest rivals eff it up!

Arsenal Edge Chelsea in Carabao Cup Semi-Final Thriller
The Carabao Cup semi-final between Chelsea and Arsenal delivered a classic first leg at Stamford Bridge, leaving the tie finely balanced after a 3-2 victory for Arsenal. A late Chelsea fightback has set up a dramatic conclusion at the Emirates Stadium next month.

In a match full of twists, Arsenal seized early control, but Chelsea clawed back to keep their Wembley dreams alive until the final whistle.

The Gunners’ goals came from Ben White (7′), Viktor Gyokeres (49′), and Martin Zubimendi (71′). White’s opener was Arsenal’s 24th set-piece goal this season, the most by any club in Europe’s top five leagues. Chelsea’s threat came primarily from substitute Alejandro Garnacho, who scored twice (57′, 83′) to bring his team back into the contest.

Arsenal has been impressive, playing a game almost every three days and grinding the positive results. On a good note, Gyokeres had ended a 16-game open-play goal drought.

Arsenal takes a 3-2 aggregate lead into the return fixture at the Emirates Stadium next month. The one-goal advantage is significant but slender against the FIFA Club World Champion. So far, no visiting team has won in any competition this season at the Emirates.  Hope the 12th man would bring the extra push to the final!

A Frustrating Draw at the City Ground
Arsenal’s Premier League title momentum hit a resilient roadblock this weekend, after being held to a 0-0 draw by a disciplined Nottingham Forest side. While the result extends the Gunners’ lead at the summit with a 7-point cushion, it represents a missed opportunity to solidify their position further, after the losses from Manchester City and Aston Villa.

The match narrative was one of dominance without penetration. The Gunners created the better chances but failed to convert. The sole positive was a defensive masterclass, with Arsenal not allowing a single shot on target. However, the inability to break down a compact and determined opponent will be a concern as the season enters its most critical phase.

Inter Milan vs Arsenal (Champion League) – No live screening
Date: Thursday, 21st January 2026, Kick-off: 4.00 AM
No live screening

Arsenal faces a stern test of their European credentials against a Serie A leading Inter Milan side and unbeaten at home this season. It is a crucial clash that could decide the Group winner. All eyes will be on Arsenal’s defence, which kept a clean sheet against Forest, to contain Inter’s talisman, Lautaro Martinez, who has four UCL goals this campaign.

Arsenal vs Manchester United (Premier League)
Date: Monday, 26th January 2026, Kick-off: 12.30 AM
Live screening to be confirmed

Returning to the Emirates fortress, the mission is clear for the Arsenal. That is to win against the Devil, who are on a high after winning the Manchester derby. The historical record favours the Gunners, who are unbeaten in their last five meetings against United (3 wins, 2 draws).

This week perfectly encapsulates the pressures of a club fighting on all fronts. The Forest draw was a reminder that the Premier League leaves no room for error. Now, the squad must swiftly regroup for the iconic atmosphere of the San Siro before a seismic domestic clash days later. The response in these two games will tell us much about this team’s maturity and trophy-winning mentality.

"People ask me what I do in the winter when there's no baseball. I'll tell you what I do. I stare out the window and wait for spring."
