Good morning!

What a week to be a Gooner. Mikel Arteta’s men are navigating the business end of the season with the composure of champions. Let’s recap the previous rollercoaster week as we look ahead to the next defining seven days.

Resilient in Europe: Bayer Leverkusen 1-1 Arsenal
It was a homecoming to remember for Kai Havertz. In a cagey affair at the BayArena, Arsenal fell behind early in the second half to a Robert Andrich header. However, the grit of this squad shone through. Arsenal looked set for a narrow defeat until the 85th minute, when Noni Madueke drew a foul in the box from Malik Tillman. Havertz stepped up to the spot against his former club, coolly slotting home a penalty to silence the home crowd and secure a vital draw. We head back to London with everything to play for.

Ruthless in Emirates: Arsenal 2-0 Everton
For 88 minutes, it felt like one of “those” nights. Everton was incredibly disciplined, and Jordan Pickford was in stimulating form, denying efforts from both Saka and Eze. The introduction of 16-year-old Max Dowman changed everything. In the 89th minute, his dangerous cross caused chaos in the box. Pickford misjudged it, and the ball fell perfectly for Viktor Gyökeres to tap into an empty net.

With Everton throwing everyone (including Pickford) forward for a 97th-minute corner, Arsenal cleared the ball to Dowman. The teenager sprinted from his own half and calmly rolled the ball into an empty net to become the youngest goalscorer in Premier League history (16 years, 73 days). He is officially the youngest goalscorer in Premier League history, surpassing Cesc Fàbregas’ club record. The win puts us nine points clear of Manchester City (though they have a game in hand). The scent of a first title in 22 years is getting stronger.

The stakes couldn’t be higher. One more game for a place in the Champions League Quarter-Finals. With the aggregate score at 1-1, the Emirates must be a fortress. If Arsenal can dominate the midfield transition as they did in the first half in Germany, they should be able to progress.
