Greetings Gooners!

Did you watch any movie recently? I watched the re-run of two very interesting movies and let me share a brief synopsis of it. The first movie I watched was “Independence Day”, last Friday early morning. In that film, the Earth was attacked by aliens. Then, the people of the world retaliated, dominated and attacked them four times comfortably. What a victory for the world! It was a good 90-minute movie.

After that, on Monday, I woke in the early morning to watch “Rise of the Planet of the Apes”. The movie was about how the humans scientifically trained the apes to be intelligent and intellectual they became over time. And in a surprising turn of events, the apes decided to revolt and subsequently overthrew the humans on three occasions. The humans didn’t learn their lesson. It was a sad movie for me. No more movies for me in the next two weeks.

On a happier note, we have acquired a framed print, personally signed by Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang himself. The said item is the top lucky draw prize for our inaugural Arsenal Sg Virtual Run slated on 12 December 2020. Do sign-up for an opportunity to win the exclusive and prized item. We also have other attractive prizes to be won. In addition, the first 40 members who registered for the event will receive $50 dining vouchers from Five. The details of the event can be found in the attached document. The closing date to register is 4 December 2020.  This event is solely for the current members.

Following the virtual run on 12 December 2020, there will be a fun-filled zoom gathering event for the participants. These will be the final event for 2020 for the Club. We hope for your strong support in this initiative. COYG!

Greetings Gooners!

How was last Monday for you? I had a wonderful feeling I cannot explain #hahaha and because of that, there’s a surprise treat for everyone. Keep reading ok!!

A bit about the match against Dundalk FC, that looked more like an exhibition match than an actual Europa League competition. Imagine a football team comprising of ‘Uncles’ playing a weekend friendly against a team of young boys at Jalan Besar Stadium. It’s like that. Arsenal could afford to play against them with only one established centreback and with Mustaffi no less. After 42 minutes of absorbing Arsenal’s attacks, Dundalk conceded 2 goals within 2 minutes. We eventually won the match 3-0, with Runarsson and Balogun making their debuts. It was a good match to boost the team’s confidence.

And finally, after 14 long years, we beat Man United at Old Trafford. Frustrating it was, to watch us wasting scoring chances created in the first half, again and again and again, like in the previous matches, but a solitary goal by Aubameyang from the spotkick, was sufficient for a redemption after two straight losses in the Premier League. Enough said! And I like seeing Partey and Elneny in midfield #mothomasmopartey Both were my men of the match.

Another packed week ahead before the international break. Arsenal hosts a Norwegian side, Molde FK, on Friday, 6 November 2020 at 4 am for the Europa League group stage and Aston Villa for a Premier League match on 9 November 2020 at 3.15 am.

Since Auba has scored against Man U, we would like to treat you, for a chance to win an exclusive framed, signed print, personally signed by the captain himself. This comes with a certificate of authenticity from Arsenal. Please see the attached image. Sign-up for the upcoming Arsenal Sg Virtual Run 2020  for an opportunity to win the top lucky draw prize, which is the said signed item plus many other attractive prizes to be won. The details of the event can be found in the attached document. This event is solely for the current members.

I have previously shared that we plan to have our very own Zoom meeting with an Arsenal player to benefit our members this season. This will happen sometime in the first half of 2021.

To those who have yet to renew the membership, this is the chance for you to do so. The renewal period will be ending in time to come. So hurry, don’t say we didn’t give you notice ah!! Renewal can be done via

Arsenal Singapore Newsletter, 28 October 2020

Greetings Gooners!

Last week, it was like the tale of two cities, Yin and Yang, Ebony and Ivory or Alpha and Beta for the Arsenal. The performances from the team were so contrasting in the last two matches.

Firstly, the Europa match against Rapid. We were nonsense in the first half. It seemed like a step backward, and akin to Arsenal during Unai’s reign. Leno was surprisingly bizarre in that match too! But we redeemed in the second half, with strategic substitutes, to win the match 2-1. Next was the game against the sly Foxes. The first half was brilliant with the team playing all over the pitch, had 12 attempts at goals but just could not get the desired finishing. Unexpectedly, the team spiralled downhill in the second half. The foxes emulate their performances against Man City with the Arsenal and scored the match-winning goal through Vardy. The loss placed us in the eleventh position after 6 matches. What is happening??

This week, Arsenal hosts an Irish side, Dundalk FC, on Friday, 30 October 2020 at 4 a.m. for the Europa League group stage and then travels to Old Trafford for a Premier League match on 2 November 2020 at 12.30 a.m. A better week ahead for us Gooners!
