Hello Fellow Singapore Gooners,

Well that was a horrible and disappointing result in the game vs Palace. With Spuds, Manure and Chelski dropping points we wasted a great opportunity to get to 3rd and finishing in the top 4. We now have 2 tough away games to go to. Wolves on Thu 245am (not shown at Five) and Leicester City this weekend.

Five Oriental will open from 5pm on Sun 28 April for the LCFC game which kicks off at 7pm. Signups/renewals will be available from 530 to 630pm. Do come down and have dinner and watch the game!

The Arsenal Academy team emerged Champions in the JSSL Pro 7 tournament held last weekend in Singapore. Well done to the boys and we look forward to them breaking into the first team in the future. Many thanks to the Singapore Gooners like Wahido and Colynn who were there to support them.

Arsenal is holding a Player of the Season vote from now till 2 May, please click on the link below and you stand a chance to win match tickets and present the award to the player. How many votes will Mustafi get, I wonder?

That’s it for this week,

COME ON ARSENAL!!!

Hello Fellow Singapore Gooners,

Hahahaha Deeney got redcarded, Watford lost and we got our first away clean sheet in the Premier League, love it!! #cojones OK it was a laboured win against 10 men and tense as hell, and they looked more likely to score the next goal but 3 points is 3 points. #winugly Keep it up!

On early Friday morning at 3am we are away at Napoli in the Europa League Quarter-final with a 2-0 lead from the 1st leg. Five Oriental will not be open for this match but they will be open from 8pm on Sunday 21 April for our home game v Crystal Palace which kicks off at 11pm. Renewals and signups for the 2019/20 Arsenal Singapore memberships will run from 9pm to 1030pm.

By the end of April, those who have signed up or renewed will receive your membership cards by mail (Singpost willing!) to your mailing address, please make sure it is correct in our database. Besides being a membership card it is also an EZ link card which you can use on your daily commute (SMRT willing!).

Great news, some of the Arsenal Academy (youth) team will be in Singapore from 17 to 21 April to take part in the JSSL Professional Academy 7aside tournament held at Our Tampines Hub. Click the link for fixture timings https://fixtures.jssl-singapore7s.com/2019/division/21172352 Do go and cheer them on if you can, some of them might make it to the first team in the future!!

We have reached out to AFC to see if we can arrange a meet up with the players whilst they are in Singapore so stay tuned.

That’s it for this week,

COME ON ARSENAL!!!

Dear Singapore Gooners,

Destiny!

Destiny will be the word of the month in April… It’s in our hands! That spot for Champions League, it’s up for grabs now! We have 7 matches to get back to Europe’s elite competition and avoid Friday morning games (yawn!). The lads are playing with a bit of swagger and with Ozil and Rambo in sync, maybe, just maybe, we can nick it. Leno’s won our Player of the Month for March so he might marshall our defence to more clean sheets!!

Things may get a bit Spursy for them lot, the devils with Ole at the wheel and the wheels might just come off sooner than expected and the rent boys are just feeling Sarri for themselves. They all know there’s only ONE TEAM IN LONDON!

Membership renewal (Change is coming!)
It’s April again so membership renewal and new sign-ups starts this Sunday. We’ve announced before that we plan to allow online sign-ups but this is taking slightly longer than expected (if we have a government grant, then it would have been faster.. ahem!). It will definitely happen this year but or now, we will continue with walk-in renewals/sign-ups at Five Oriental on match nights.

1. We have maintained the same pricing for renewals and sign-ups for past 12 years . Happy, right? But moving forward, we will do away with Junior Gooners membership. We only have less than 10 kids currently. To reward them for their support this coming season, we will extend a 1-year free membership to these kids. Our new membership structure will have a single price for all ages: sign-ups ($50) and renewals ($30).

2. Effective immediately, we will be mailing out membership cards to our members (local address only). So when you come down to renew, Exco team will request that you check (and check again) to ensure your mailing address in our system is current. Cards will be mailed out 3 weeks after payment is received.

3. We still have limited sizes for Arsenal SG polo t-shirts up for sale ($20 each) on match nights. Once all polos are sold out, we won’t be ordering new stock in future. Also available are drawstring bags, mugs and scarves ($10 each). Exact Cash please.

Onto this Sunday, we play away at Everton. Our away form is nervy to say the least. We gotta buck up and aim for a clean sheet. Come down for the final few games of this season. Grab your dinner with your family and friends before the match.

Doors open at 7pm. Membership renewals will be from 7.30pm – 8.30pm and our treasurers are requesting for exact cash payment if you can.
Everton v The Arsenal, 9.05pm kick-off, Sunday 7 April @ Five Oriental
