Arsenal Singapore Newsletter, 14 April 2022

Hei Gooners!

It was unfortunate for those who missed out on the Arsenal Sg 15th anniversary party last Saturday. The event was wonderful and exciting. Ray Parlour was candid, funny and a pure gentleman. We got to know in the flesh how he was named Romford Pele!!

And it was disastrous for Arsenal, as the club suffered another defeat against Brighton. It was painful to watch as the team just disintegrated, knowing that the players could have done better based on the past matches. There were defeats that we can take positively but these two defeats seem like the team had taken a few steps backward.

The absence of Partey and Tierney were strongly felt last Saturday but that could not be the reason for the loss. Perhaps, Arteta had missed out on his tactics. I question his decision to position Xhaka as leftback. Anyway, the advantage to get into the fourth position is diminishing and getting positive results for the remaining 8 games are becoming very crucial in order to qualify for the European competition next season.

Hopefully, the gaffer can rejuvenate the team to get the desired outcome. The first of the eight matches, is an away game against Southampton, this Saturday on 16 April 2022 at 10 pm kick-off. Come on Arsenal!! Submit your match predictions before the start of the game.

Greetings Gooners!
What a horrible match at Selhurst Park on Tuesday! Brentford did us a favour by beating Chelsea at home, prior to the Palace game. We failed to capitalize and lost out on 3 points to challenge Chelsea. On the other hand, Spurs took their chances and is on par with us. The good news is that we have a game in hand though! We love drama, don’t we?
And so, the next game against Brighton, on 9 April 2022 at 10 pm, is vital. What will Arteta’s approach for this match be, with Partey out and Tierney no longer available for the rest of the season? Tomiyasu is not ready and Laca is firing blanks. A lot is at stake for the club!! Let’s give our support to Arsenal. COYG!!
Talking about support, have you registered for Arsenal Sg’s biggest event of the season, the 15th year anniversary Zoom party? The Romford Pele will be joining us for the event. It is a 2-hour event, with quizzes, a Q&A session, a lucky draw and the grand auction of a signed Arsenal 2019/2020 banana kit (the away kit).
To register for the event, fill in the form via

Those who sign up for the event will be eligible for the lucky draw to win Arsenal merchandise. Registration ends on 8 April 2022 at 11.59 pm. We need more members to join, please.

The winning membership card design, to be used for next season, will be unveiled during the event. Following that, we will open the portal for membership renewals ($30) and new sign-ups ($50).

Don’t forget to send in your score prediction for the Brighton game. And see you this Saturday in your red and white to welcome Ray Parlour!!

Arsenal Singapore Newsletter, 31 March 2022

Greetings Gooners and happy birthday to all of us!! It’s Arsenal Singapore 15th years in existence today. That’s a huge milestone for the club.

On the Arsenal front, that’s 6 from 9 possible points before the international break. And with the 2 wins, Arsenal is fourth in the league. It’s not a comfortable position but we have a game in hand and there’s upcoming fixtures with Man United and Spurs. At this point, the fourth place is still within our grasp but United and Spurs aren’t far behind.

The way the Arsenal has been playing, the togetherness of the team, the aspiration to get back to champions league, the support from the fans, etc, has been contagious.

Arsenal looked bleak at the start of the season and over the course of the season, the team had prospered under the wing of Arteta. It’s like the relief felt with the Covid-19 situation in Singapore where it has just been announced that certain restrictions have been lifted.

With that, Arsenal Singapore will be on the lookout for a venue, for the members to meet and watch the games. We hope to achieve this before the start of season 2022/2023. Any suggestions might help though!!
To a greater news, the club will be celebrating the 15th anniversary on 9 April 2022 at 7.30 pm with a Zoom gathering. We have an Arsenal legend and an Invincible, Ray Parlour, to join us for the session. It is a 2-hour event, with quizzes, Q&A, lucky draw and the auction of a signed Arsenal 2019/2020 banana kit. To register for the event, fill in the form via

The first 35 members who signed up will receive an autograph print of Romford Pele. And also, those who signed up for the event will be eligible for the lucky draws to win Arsenal merchandise.
We will be unveiling the winning membership card design, to be used for next season. The portal for membership renewals ($30) and sign-ups ($50) will commence after the event.
Look out for more details of the event in our FB and IG!
Arsenal’s next game is against Viera’s Palace, scheduled on 5 April 2022 at 3 am. Submit your predictions for the game to Janeil.
