Greetings Gooners! North London is red! It’s red!

But first, a 3-1 win over Olympiacos. We took control of the match, Ødegaard scored a spectacular strike to open his goal account and after that, Arsenal gifted a goal to the home side, in similar fashion in the Burnley game. From then on, Olympiacos looked likely to score the winning goal. But Arsenal persevered. In the final 10 minutes, Arsenal scored two more goals, to take 3-away goals advantage for the second leg.

And what a win against Mourinho’s Cocks. That game really highlighted the intensity, the drama, the goals and the passion, needed for a North London Derby. Lamela scored a special goal, Ødegaard equalised to increase his tally to 2 goals, a penalty awarded to Arsenal which was not exactly a penalty, Lamela got sent off, and Spurs took control of the game in the final 10 minutes and nearly equalised. Heart-thumping game for me and it made the win sweet! The referee was on our side this time. Sweeter!

The second leg against Olympiacos is tomorrow, 19 March 2021 at 1.55 am. I am confident that we can go through to the quarter finals, unless Arsenal decides to compete with a (water) pistol and Olympiacos chooses a bazooka. After that, another London Derby between West Ham and Arsenal on Sunday, 21 March 2021 at 11 pm.

On Tuesday, 16 March 2021, I attended a gathering organised by the British High Commission, together with the EPL supporter Clubs, i.e, Liverpool, Chelsea, Spurs, Man United and Man City. Her Excellency is a Pool fan and the gathering served to provide insights on how the supporters are coping with the Covid-19 situation and also to understand how the clubs run locally. Undeniably, Arsenal Sg is very organised, runs both community and social events regularly.

I am proud to represent Arsenal Sg. Even in this pandemic, all of us were able to contribute as a club and we have successfully held online events for everyone to participate. More good things to come for sure, as the Exco and I planned for something special for our members. And I can only hope for the members’ participation and support.

What a bummer last weekend!

Arsenal was poised to beat Burnley but instead could only afford an away draw. Aside from the foolishness between Xhaka and Leno, there were chances after chances for Arsenal to take the lead. But it was not meant to be. The one point obtained from that game would have made Arsenal rooted at the 10th position for quite a while unless a miracle happens.

Well, we can only look forward to the next game, for the topsy-turvy experience. First up is the first leg of the Europa League match against Olympiacos on 12 March 2021 at 4 am, followed by a North London Derby at the Emirates on 15 March 2021 at 12.30 am. How will we fare this time? #crossfinger

To local news, the British High Commission has invited a few EPL supporter Clubs for a sharing session with Her Excellency on 16 March 2021. It’s an honour for me to represent the club in this special event. I will provide some insights to the members in due course.

Greetings Gooners!!

The results from Arsenal last week was #sweet. Not bitter this time. And the team is keeping their chances alive in the Europa League.

I mentioned last week that 1 away goal against Benfica could be vital. And when they were leading 2-1, my heart just sunk, and I feared the worst. But the lads just gave their all and when KT3 scored to make it 2-2, I jumped for joy. Alas, Auba scored the winning goal and there was no turning back for Arsenal. On to the round of 16. In my heart, I was hoping to play Villarreal, but we got Olympiacos instead. Next time perhaps.

And the win against Leicester was a big surprise given Arsenal’s starting-11. It looked like Arteta’s B-team. They started slow, at the start of the game, and it looked like Leicester was expected to beat Arsenal once again but no, it did not materialise. The B-team gave an A-star performance, to beat the foxes 3-1 away. And after 26 matches, Arsenal lies in the 10th position.

The team has a week to prepare for the next match against Burnley at Turf Moor on Saturday 6 March 2021 for another early kick-off at 8.30 pm. In the last 10 games against Burnley, Arsenal won 8 times, draw 1 and lost 1. The draw was during last season and the loss was at the Emirates in December last year. Let’s hope the winning run continues once again COYG!!

Anyone hosting for the game this Saturday?
