Hei Gooners!
The Highs: Sporting Lisbon 0-1 Arsenal
We headed to the Estádio José Alvalade last week for the Champions League quarter final (1st leg) and did exactly what was required. It wasn’t always pretty, but it was incredibly effective. Kai Havertz proved once again why he is the man for the big occasion, ghosting into the box to slot home a 91st-minute winner after a brilliant run and assist from Gabriel Martinelli. David Raya was immense, making several world-class saves to preserve the clean sheet and end Sporting’s 17-game unbeaten home run. We take a slender but vital 1-0 lead back to North London.
The Lows: Arsenal 1-2 Bournemouth
A tough one to swallow at the Emirates. Despite our dominance in possession, the Cherries proved to be our “bogey team” for the second season running. Bournemouth took an early lead, but Viktor Gyökeres pulled us level from the penalty spot, his 18th goal of a stellar debut campaign. In the 75th-minute, a strike from Alex Scott caught us on the break, leaving us empty-handed despite late pressure from Jesus and Gyökeres. The dreadful result tightens the title race significantly, making our upcoming domestic fixtures absolutely non-negotiable.
Arsenal v Sporting Lisbon (Champions League) – No Live Screening
Date: Thursday, 16th April 2026, Kick-off: 3.00 AM
No live screening
The job is only half done. While we have the one-goal advantage, Sporting showed they have the pace to hurt us. Expect a rocking Emirates atmosphere as we look to book our spot in the semi-finals. We need to be clinical and avoid the defensive lapses seen over the weekend.
Man City v Arsenal – Live Screening
Date: Sunday, 19th April 2026, Kick-off: 11.30 PM
Live screening at Molly’s Malone
The Biggest One! With City breathing down our necks after their clinical win over Chelsea, this trip to the Etihad is a true title decider. A win puts the destiny of the trophy firmly in our hands. Anything else makes the final run-in a nerve-wracking sprint. Expect a chess match between two tactical giants.
Let’s keep the faith! Whether you’re watching from home or going for the live screening groups, let’s bring that energy for the game.
