Our member Bryan Png shares his visit to The Arsenal to watch the team take on Sporting CP in April 2026. 

Back in N5 under the lights for Arsenal vs Sporting Lisbon. A pragmatic 0–0, but it’s not every day you get to watch your club secure back-to-back Champions League semi-finals. While the football was a bit boring, the matchday experience, fans, and atmosphere were the polar opposite!

Thanks to Dhanesh and Arsenal SG, we managed to get an exclusive opportunity to be part of the player arrivals, welcoming the boys as they headed into battle. Being amongst Arsenal fans from around the world reminded me just how massive our club is. As the atmosphere around the ground became palpable and the anticipation began to build, I arrived at my seat for the night a perfect view of both goals and right on top of the noisy away fans (quiet by full-time, making it the best spot to watch their silent exits).

It was great to be sat amongst fellow Singapore Gunners, being able to comment on the game in Singlish without code-switching, and then continuing our conversations in the local pub afterwards. While Mikel and the boys’ performance left more to be desired, the experience of watching our club live will always live up to it.
