Our member Abel Kee shares his visit to The Arsenal to watch the team take on Burnley in May 2026.

It’s been 8.5 years since my first visit to Emirates in Dec 2017 in the Arsene Wenger era where we remembered the wonder volley by Mesut Ozil in a 1-0 win over Newcastle followed by a Granit Xhaka rocket in a 3-3 home draw vs Liverpool.

Having seen all the pre-match rituals on TV with North London Forever in the Mikel Arteta era, I was just simply buzzing to even have this opportunity to secure the ticket. What happened at Emirates was simply electric.

Pre-match – As many of you have seen the insane crowds outside the Emirates just waiting for the Arsenal team bus to arrive – to experience in-person the red flares everywhere, heavy drum beats, endless chanting, even booing the Burnley fans team bus – is just simply amazing.

Match atmosphere was great from the start even on a chilly Monday night – chanting never stops – including booing certain ex-Spurs and ex-Man U players. When the corner from Saka went to Havertz’s head and goal – we felt relief and euphoria simultaneously – all the way till HT.

Second half – with a one-nil lead was never safe and it started to get nervy, especially with the long VAR check on Havertz’s foul that felt like hours. The mood dipped a little, but the chanting never stopped, cheering at all the small wins – and even getting wowed by a little Mosquera trickery close to the end. Full time whistle was a sweet melody, the job was done, followed by a quick lap of appreciation from the team.

Immensely grateful for this opportunity to see The Arsenal, one trophy down – hopefully the start of many.
