Good morning Gooners!
It’s our 40th newsletter of the year! Time flies when you’re chasing a double. As we navigate the final stretch of the 2025/2026 season, tensions are soaring, but our recent performances are keeping spirits high. Here is your breakdown of a massive week for the Arsenal.
Spanish satisfaction: Atletico Madrid 1-1 Arsenal
It was a classic European night in Spain. The atmosphere at the Metropolitano was hostile, but Mikel Arteta’s men showed incredible maturity. Just before half-time, Viktor Gyökeres continued his sensational debut season, coolly slotting home a penalty in the 44th minute after a foul on him by David Hancko.
Atletico pushed hard in the second half. Unfortunately, a handball by Ben White gifted them a penalty of their own, which Julián Alvarez converted in the 56th minute. Arteta was reportedly “furious” after a second potential penalty for a foul on Eberechi Eze was overturned by VAR.
Despite the drama, a 1-1 draw away from home is a fantastic result. We bring a crucial away goal (and a level scoreline) back to North London for the second leg.
Fiery Conquest: Arsenal 3-0 Fulham
If there were any concerns about European fatigue, these were silenced within nine minutes. We were clinical, professional, and dominant. Viktor Gyökeres is unstoppable. He bagged a brace, taking him to 21 goals for the season. Bukayo Saka, making his first start in six weeks following an Achilles injury, was the architect. He assisted the opener and scored a clinical goal of his own in the 38th minute.
The win moves us six points clear of Manchester City (who have two games in hand). Importantly, we now have a +4 superior goal difference over City, which could be the ultimate tiebreaker. With only three games left, the dream is very much alive!

This is a great chance to end our 20-year exile from the Champions League Final. Arsenal is currently on a 13-match unbeaten streak in the UCL. Avoiding defeat here would set a new club record. Atletico made 11 changes in their weekend win over Valencia, so they will be fresh. Arteta is expected to be pragmatic. While we need to win, Atletico’s counter-attacking threat with Griezmann and Alvarez, is a concern. Who will Arteta start? Let’s see!

Another London derby! The Hammers is currently fighting a relegation battle (sitting 18th), making them a dangerous, wounded animal. While we have a superior margin of probability to win, the London Stadium will be a pressure cooker. We need the three points to keep the pressure on City.
COYG! Let’s keep the belief. Two weeks to go, two trophies to fight for. “We have enough fuel in the tank. We’re playing to win the Premier League, and it’s exactly where we want to be.” – Mikel Arteta
